PLOUGHMAN'S BOTHY
The old ploughman would hardly now recognise the Ploughman's Bothy, which is a skilful reconstruction made to high modern standards. Original features such as the stone end-wall and the old fireplace, complete with its cooking 'swee', have been retained and form a nostalgic backdrop to the present Bothy lounge. Dark leather furniture adds to the traditional feel.
The Ploughman's Bothy sleeps 4 and is ideal for couples or small families. A dog companion is welcome, by prior arrangement at time of booking.
The front door opens south onto the old farm courtyard, now a landscaped garden. The main entrance to the Cottage, however, is up a set of steps from the parking area at the rear to a raised patio area. Patio doors lead to the ground-floor living area.
The lounge/dining area is separated from the kitchen by an open-tread spiral staircase. This leads up to a central landing with doors leading off to either side giving access to the twin and double bedrooms.
Downstairs the dining area has a circular glass-topped table with four chairs while the lounge has two dark leather sofas and an oak coffee table. The TV with DVD player and "freeview" box sit in the recess of the old fireplace, in the attractive exposed stone wall.
The ground-floor bathroom has a full-size bath with fitted 'instant' shower, WC and washhandbasin, extractor fan, heated towel-rail, wall-mounted fan heater, mirror and shaver light.

The fitted kitchen has a gas hob, electric oven, cooker hood, built-under fridge with ice-box, washer/tumbledrier, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, electric kettle and extractor fan. There is also a full range of crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils and implements.
